Box Alarm in the Rutland-Dundee Township FPD, 4-24-19

Excerpts from DailyHerald.com:

A 911 call was made before noon on Wednesday to a business located at 37W507 Big Timber Road, just west of Randall Road. Firefighters arrived and discovered significant fire in the attic of the one-story building, which later spread to the main level. The fire was brought under control by 2:30 p.m., with assistance from twelve fire departments across the area. The cause of the fire has been determined to be electrical and accidental. The estimated damage is around $1.5 million.

The 30-year-old, 9,000-square-foot building was completely destroyed, along with a skid-steer loader and various construction tools. Employees reported seeing sparks coming from both the inside and outside of the building, and they managed to shut off the power within 10 minutes of noticing the issue.

Local residents and business owners are still processing the loss, as the structure was a long-standing part of the community. Authorities are continuing their investigation to ensure there were no other contributing factors to the incident.
