The largest engine casting production base in Zhejiang Province settled in Xiaoshan

Yesterday, a major engine casting production base in Zhejiang Province officially commenced construction in the Xiaoshan Economic and Technological Development Zone. With a total investment of 570 million yuan, the facility is expected to produce 70,000 tons of engine castings annually. This marks the final phase of the overall relocation and reconstruction project of Hangzhou Heavy-duty Truck Group's Hangzhou Engine Co., Ltd. Once completed, the base will lay a solid foundation for the company's goal of producing 100,000 engines per year. The project will be implemented in two stages. The first phase is scheduled to start operations in July next year, with an annual output of 40,000 tons. The second phase, planned for completion by 2010, will focus on relocating the existing production lines and achieving an additional 30,000 tons of annual output. According to General Manager Li Kekuan, the new facility is primarily designed to meet the demand for the next generation of diesel engines that comply with national emission standards III and IV. Its foundry has made significant advancements in areas such as modeling materials, casting techniques, and cast iron materials.
