Steel prices rise Nissan Motor Co. 6 kinds of commercial vehicles will increase prices
Starting October 1st this year, Nissan will implement price increases on its six commercial vehicle models. However, small commercial vehicles will not be affected by this adjustment. The price hike primarily targets commercial trucks, minibuses, and cargo vehicles with capacities of 2 tons and 1.5 tons. On average, the increase is around 2.2%, with individual price adjustments ranging from approximately 30,000 to 70,000 yen.
This move comes as Nissan faces growing challenges due to rising steel prices, which have made it increasingly difficult for the company to absorb the additional costs internally. Earlier this year, Toyota also announced a similar price increase for its commercial vehicles, prompting Nissan to follow suit in response to market conditions.
Despite these developments, Nissan has not officially confirmed whether it has fully decided on the pricing strategy for passenger cars. According to the company, any potential price changes for passenger vehicles will be carefully considered, taking into account industry trends and customer feedback.
The decision reflects a broader trend in the automotive industry, where manufacturers are struggling with inflationary pressures and supply chain disruptions. As global steel and raw material costs continue to rise, more automakers are likely to consider similar measures in the coming months.
