Nationwide Boiler Participates in Annual Pathway Conference with Student Tours of Facility

Earlier this month, Nationwide Boiler Inc. welcomed a group of high school students from Washougal High School for an exclusive tour of its Controls Division, Nationwide Control Solutions, located in Washougal, Washington. This visit was part of the school’s Annual Pathway Conference, an event designed to connect students with local industries and provide hands-on exposure to career opportunities in the trades. The conference, similar to a career fair, aimed to inspire students in the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program by offering real-world insights into potential careers after graduation. By engaging students early on, the CTE program helps improve graduation rates and prepares them for the workforce through practical learning experiences. “We were thrilled to participate in such a meaningful event,” said Jack Valentine, General Manager at Nationwide Boiler. “It's crucial that we introduce young people to the diverse and rewarding careers available in the trades, especially within the boiler and control systems industry. These are high-skilled, high-demand jobs that often go unnoticed by students, so it's our responsibility to raise awareness.” During the tour, students learned about the wide range of products Nationwide offers, including temporary rental boilers, new and used boilers, emissions control equipment, and combustion control systems. They also had the chance to explore the panel shop, where they saw electrical wiring, factory testing, and the fabrication of new equipment in action. Highlights of the tour included a newly built motor control center (MCC) panel for a rental boiler, a urea supply skid for a CataStak™ SCR system, several Eagle combustion control panels, and various fuel supply skids. The students were highly engaged, asking questions and showing genuine interest in the technology and processes involved. At the end of the tour, each student received a small token of appreciation along with valuable knowledge about control systems and the broader boiler industry.
