Nationwide Boiler Participates in Annual Pathway Conference with Student Tours of Facility

Earlier this month, Nationwide Boiler Inc. welcomed a group of high school students from Washougal High School for an exclusive tour of their Controls Division, Nationwide Control Solutions, located in Washougal, Washington. The event was part of the school’s Annual Pathway Conference, an initiative designed to expose students in the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program to real-world career opportunities in local trades. The conference functions as a hands-on career fair, offering students a chance to explore various industries and gain insight into potential future careers. For many, this is their first exposure to the skilled trades, which often go unnoticed despite offering stable, well-paying jobs with strong growth potential. “We were thrilled to be part of this meaningful event,” said Jack Valentine, General Manager at Nationwide Boiler. “It’s crucial that we introduce young people to the wide range of opportunities available in the trades. Many don’t realize how vital these roles are, especially in industries like boiler systems and control solutions.” During the tour, students learned about the company’s full range of products, including temporary rental boilers, new and used boilers, emissions control equipment, and advanced combustion control systems. They also had the opportunity to see firsthand how custom control panels are built and tested in the facility. The visit included a walk-through of the panel shop, where students observed electrical wiring, factory acceptance testing, and the fabrication of key components such as motor control centers (MCCs), urea supply skids, and fuel supply systems. The hands-on experience gave students a deeper understanding of the technical skills required in the field. At the end of the tour, each student received a small token of appreciation and a wealth of knowledge about the industry. It was clear that the students were engaged, asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine interest in the work being done at Nationwide Control Solutions.
