Daqing Refining successfully solved the problem of desalinated water recycling from granulator
Recently, the Polypropylene Factory of Daqing Refining & Chemicals seized the opportunity for the first major overhaul of its 300,000-ton-per-year polypropylene extrusion granulator this year. During this period, the team gathered extensive information and successfully addressed a critical issue: large-scale gate desalination and water loss that was previously irreversible. This improvement is expected to save the company over 8,000 tons of water annually.
Currently, many similar centrifugal granulators in domestic use face common issues with their large material gates. These problems often stem from design flaws, leading to excessive gaps and loose seals, which result in significant losses of desalinated water that cannot be recovered. To reduce waste and ensure optimal plant performance, the factory thoroughly analyzed the bulk gate process. Through careful study, they identified the root cause and decided to seal the gates using a specialized rubber material.
Practical implementation has shown that this solution not only offers excellent heat resistance and strong resistance to water impact, but also significantly improves the sealing of the large material gates. As a result, most of the desalinated water can now be recycled back into the pelletizing water tank, saving approximately 24 tons of water per day. This innovative approach marks a major step forward in resource conservation and operational efficiency for the factory.
