Around 5:30 PM on Friday, July 15, 2016, the Berwyn Fire Department received multiple calls reporting a structure fire at 1236 Cuyler Avenue. As the first responders arrived, they confirmed it was a fully involved structure fire. Quint 9Q1 was quickly positioned at the front of the building to use its master stream and tackle the bulk of the fire on the delta side. Meanwhile, Truck Co. 904 was stationed right behind them to address the flames on the alpha side. North Riverside Engine Co. 808 was also called in for assistance and set up on 13th Street. Around 6:00 PM, Forest Park Engine Co. 402 was dispatched to the scene, moving down Cuyler Avenue, where firefighters began setting up their equipment at the fire site. Thanks to the coordinated efforts, the situation was under control relatively quickly.
