New brush unit for the Homer FPD

Martin Nowak discovered an exciting new delivery on the Alexis Fire Equipment website for the Homer Fire Protection District. The unit is a brand-new flatbed brush truck, designated as #SK799, and it's now officially part of the Homer FPD fleet. This rugged and well-equipped brush truck is designed to handle tough terrain and challenging firefighting situations. It features a Ford F-550XL 4-door 4x4 DRW chassis, powered by a strong 6.8L V-10 engine that delivers 362 horsepower. The truck is built with a heavy-duty 3/16-inch aluminum body, making it both durable and lightweight. The vehicle comes equipped with a Warn XD9000 winch, a 400-gallon poly skid tank, and a Waterous PB18-3030LE pump driven by a 20-horsepower Honda engine. It also includes multiple discharge ports, booster lines, and a Hannay electric booster reel with 150 feet of hose for added flexibility in operations. Inside the cab, there's a floor-mounted console with map and binder storage, along with a Code 3 electronic siren and Whelen LED warning lights. The truck also has a Kussmaul Super Auto Eject 120-volt shoreline connection, making it ready for use in various environments.
