Foreword:
Entrusted by Chongqing XXX Company, Xi'an Tianzhou Mining Development Co., Ltd. conducted a laboratory small-scale desiliconization ore dressing test on the XXX bauxite mine in Wulong County, Chongqing from June 12 to July 15, 2007. Provide a basis for the possibility of exploitation and utilization of the mine.
The Wulong bauxite ore in Chongqing is a clay -type bauxite. There are three types of ore: (1) gravel kaolinite-Bohmite-type clayey bauxite; (2) clay-type bauxite containing Boomerite; (3) clay ore containing quartz dust . No diaspore was found in the ore. The aluminum ore contained were mainly boehmite and kaolinite, and the SiO 2 minerals were mainly kaolinite and chlorite. The ore content of Al 2 O 3 is 49.39%, and the ratio of aluminum to silicon is 1.94. The clay (cryptocrystalline soil-like, colloidal aggregate) accounts for more than 90% of the ore. It is a difficult ore.

The experiment carried out several schemes such as positive flotation, reverse flotation, roasting-flotation, contrast test of different inhibitor types, and the open flow test was carried out on positive flotation and roasting-flotation. Positive flotation of aluminum concentrate Al 2 O 3 57.91%, aluminum to silicon ratio of 4.02, recovery rate of 29.73%. Calcination-flotation of aluminum concentrate Al 2 O 3 63.23%, aluminum to silicon ratio of 4.58, recovery rate of 21.09%.

Conclusion:
1. Chongqing Wulong bauxite is a clay-type aluminum ore. There are three types of ore: (1) gravel-type kaolinite-Bohmite-type clay-type bauxite; (2) clay containing Boomerite Type bauxite; (3) clay ore containing quartz dust. The main aluminum-containing minerals are boehmite and kaolinite. The main silicon-containing minerals are kaolinite and a small amount of chlorite. Secondly ores containing small amounts of white iron ore, limonite.
2. The clay content of the ore in the cryptomorphic soil and colloidal aggregate accounts for about 90%. Due to the relatively fine particle size and large surface charge and specific surface area, it is easy to cause dispersion or aggregation. It is difficult to remove the effect of slime by selective flocculation and desliming method, which is an important reason for affecting the grade of flotation concentrate. one.
3. The main aluminum minerals boehmite and kaolinite are closely related to clay, and the size of the inlay is fine. The size of boehmite is 0.05mm, the size of kaolinite is 0.01-0.05mm, although the content of quartz is small, but Fine crumb clay, with a particle size of 0.01mm or less. This inlay property of ore is an important reason for the low recovery of aluminum.
4. Kaolinite is the main silicon-containing mineral in the ore. Its molecular formula is: H 4 Al 2 Si 2 O 9 , wherein Al 2 O 3 = 39.54%, 2SiO 2 = 46.51%, 2H 2 O = 13.95%. The flotation method can not separate the aluminum and silicon in the kaolinite. The flotation result is high in aluminum and high in silicon, which is an important reason that affects the ratio of aluminum to silicon.
5. Using a single flotation method, the Al 2 O 3 grade in the aluminum concentrate is 57.91%, the recovery rate is 29.73%, and the aluminum to silicon ratio is 4.02. The roasting-flotation can make the carbon, crystal water, sulfur and other easy in the ore. The burnt-out component is effectively volatilized, which is beneficial to increase the aluminum content. The Al 2 O 3 content in the calcination was increased from 49% before calcination to 55%; likewise, the SiO 2 content was also increased from 25% before calcination to 27%. The grade of Al 2 O 3 in flotation concentrate increased to 63.23%, and the ratio of aluminum to silicon increased to 4.58, but the recovery rate dropped to 21.09%. Generally speaking, the roasting-flotation effect is better. However, due to time and funding constraints, roasting-flotation has not been tested in detail and needs further study.
6. According to China's requirements for bauxite ore quality standards, the lowest level of Al 2 O 3 in bauxite should not be lower than 48%, and the ratio of aluminum to silicon should not be lower than 3. Chongqing Wulong bauxite ore has Al 2 O 3 49%, aluminum to silicon ratio (A/S) 1.9. After ore dressing test, Al 2 O 3 reaches 63.23%, and aluminum to silicon ratio is 4.58. The test results can be used as the preliminary basis for the development and utilization of the mine. It is recommended to use a roasting-flotation scheme for further mineral processing experiments.
7. Due to the fine grain size of the ore, a large amount of slime is produced after fine grinding, combined with the influence of clay (gel) and chemicals, the flotation mine is difficult to dehydrate, and the closed circuit test is difficult to carry out, which is to be completed in production practice.
