"The Lyons Fire Department received an emergency call about a possible structure fire at 8155 W. Ogden Ave. around 6:30 PM on August 4th, 2016. When Engine 1312 arrived on the scene, they initially reported a fully-involved apartment unit fire on the second floor. However, it turned out to be a fire on the second-floor balcony, which firefighters managed to extinguish before it could spread to the building itself. The fire was quickly brought under control thanks to the coordinated efforts of the firefighting teams. Riverside Truck Co. 1629 was stationed on the Bravo side of the building, while Lyons Engine 1312 took a position in front of them. By the time I arrived, the overhaul phase was already underway. Units present at the scene included Lyons Rescue Engine 1316, Engine 1311, and Medic 1314. Additionally, Riverside Chief 1618 was on site. Both McCook and Brookfield dispatched their engines but were sent back upon arrival. It was a swift and efficient operation, and everyone involved did an excellent job.
