Recently, Xichai 4DW93-45DT4 diesel engine formally passed the T4 Final stage emission certification of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and obtained the 2018 model certificate, becoming the first multi-cylinder diesel engine in the United States to obtain this certification!

US EPA certification:

From January 1, 2006, the new environmental protection regulations issued by the US EPA stipulated that automobiles and motorcycles exported to the United States must pass the EPA certification, and obtain EPA certificates and signs before entering the US market.

EPA T4 Final emission regulations:

The EPA T4 Final emission regulations are extremely stringent compared with the existing non-road three-phase legislation in China. The particulate matter emission standard is one-twentieth of the current non-road three-phase standards in China, and the nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons emission standards are higher than domestic ones. The three-phase indicator is 60% lower. And it needs to go through a rigorous 1750-hour discharge endurance test, that is, after the diesel engine has been used normally for 5000 hours, the discharge still meets the regulations.

In fact, as early as June 2017, Xichai 4DW93-45DT4 diesel engine has passed the 1750-hour discharge endurance test of the San Antonio Carnot-Intertek Emissions Laboratory, laying the foundation for the smooth win of this certificate. The acquisition of this certificate means that Xichai's products have qualified for entry into the United States in the field of non-road machinery and opened the entire American sales market!

Xichai 4DW93-45DT4 diesel engine has improved the design of cylinder liner, piston ring, piston ring groove, etc. to reduce the amount of helium and reduce fuel consumption. And optimize the design of the intake valve sealing surface, to solve the serious problem of intake valve wear. At the same time, the enhanced cylinder block design improves cylinder strength and reduces cylinder bore deformation. By optimizing the structure of the diesel engine, technical difficulties such as application of CCV technology, EGR reliability, emission NTE calibration and testing have been overcome.
