New Electronics Capabilities Are Coming to Fusion 360

This year, at Autodesk University, we’re thrilled to celebrate the chance to create superior products by leveraging a cutting-edge, cloud-connected product development platform. In line with this vision, we’re excited to announce the introduction of a brand-new electronics environment within Fusion 360, designed to amplify our customers' capacity for innovation. Starting in 2020, users will be able to seamlessly access essential electronics features right inside Fusion 360, such as printed circuit board (PCB) design, schematic editing, SPICE simulation, library management, and so much more. Since Fusion 360 already unites design, simulation, and manufacturing, users will now be able to take their electronic design concepts and physically produce them all within the same product development ecosystem. Our Fusion 360 community has been vocal about their desire for tighter integration between electronic and mechanical design, so today we're offering them the ability to capture, design, fit, and manufacture in real-time. This means users won’t have to manually transfer files, adjust incompatible data types, or deal with the usual disconnects that often occur between mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD) and electronic computer-aided design (ECAD) in separate software tools. Instead, they'll have access to a comprehensive suite of PCB layout and schematic editing tools, along with rich library content, all combined with the extensive mechanical design and manufacturing features that Fusion 360 offers—all in one integrated package.
