This is from Josh Boyajian:
LaGrange Park experienced a box alarm this afternoon. It appeared that a power line had fallen and sparked a fire that spread to a house and a garage across the street from each other. Firefighters from all over the area responded, including a brand-new battalion buggy from Tri-State and Bellwood’s new tower ladder. I managed to take a few photos, but by the time I got there, the flames were already under control.
The LaGrange Patch reported:
The La Grange Park Fire Department was called out at 3:24 p.m. on July 24 to a house fire at 1401 Newbury. The fire was fully extinguished within 25 minutes.
Fire departments from La Grange; Oak Brook, North Riverside; Pleasantview; Bellwood; Hinsdale; and Westmont all arrived at the scene to assist.

It was impressive to see so many departments come together in such a short time. The response was quick, and it looks like no one was hurt. The community will be relieved to know that the situation was handled efficiently. These photos give a real sense of what happened that day and how quickly things can escalate with a power line issue. It's always good to see local firefighters working hard and supporting each other in times of need.
