Working Fire in Gary, IN, 2/24/15

This is from Josh Boyajian:

I was in Gary on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 6th Avenue and Taney. I arrived well after the fire had already been extinguished. The fire was in a one-story frame house, measuring 25 by 40 feet. When the first units arrived, there was heavy fire showing from the roof. The initial response included Engine 8, Engine 13, Truck 1, Squad 2, and Medic 404.

It's always interesting to see how quickly crews respond and how they handle these types of incidents. Even though I arrived late, it was still impressive to witness the aftermath and the effort put in by the firefighters. These photos give a real sense of what happened that day and the hard work involved in putting out the fire. It's also a reminder of the dangers they face every single day. Thanks for sharing these images, Josh — they really tell a story on their own.
