This is Lt. John Matthews. I just got back from checking out some of the new equipment that arrived at Station 6 recently. Things are looking good so far!
First up, we’ve got our brand-new Rescue #6, a 1993 Oshkosh TA3000. It’s an absolute workhorse with its 2000/3000-gallon capacity and 450-gallon foam system. This one was previously used by New Lenox before it came to us, and it even has some history with the US Navy. It’s a solid addition to the team.
Next is our Utility #6, a 2007 Chevy Van. It’s perfect for smaller tasks around the station and can handle light transport duties without any issues. The van’s in great shape and has held up well over the years.
Then there’s the 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 XL. This truck is a beast when it comes to towing or hauling heavier loads. It’s been running smoothly since day one, and I’m confident it’ll keep performing as expected.
