House fire in Millbrook, IL, 7-23-16

As a local photographer covering emergency incidents, I often find myself on the scene early to capture the first moments of a response. This fire in Millbrook was no exception. The house was fully involved, and crews worked hard through the night to bring the flames under control. It's always interesting to see the coordination between different fire departments, like Bristol-Kendall and Little Rock-Fox, as they support each other during large-scale calls. From the large diameter hose used to supply water, to the water tenders and ambulances on standby, every piece of equipment plays a crucial role. I also had the chance to document the incident commander managing the scene and the fire engines working under challenging conditions. These photos give a glimpse into the intense and critical work that happens behind the scenes during emergencies.
