China hopes to strengthen international cooperation in this field and find an effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions without affecting economic development. The international technical cooperation in response to climate change has brought a lot of investment opportunities. The Chinese government will study the introduction of a corresponding tilt policy to support and encourage investment in this area.
It is understood that the "Asia-Pacific Clean Development and Climate Cooperation Body" participated by six countries including China, the United States, Japan, India, South Korea and Australia was formally launched in July this year. It will formulate the first batch of action plans by the end of this year. Unlike the "Kyoto Protocol," the organization does not set a standard for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Instead, it emphasizes the use of technical cooperation to limit and reduce emissions.
Jiang Kejun said that participating in the "Asia Pacific Clean Development and Climate Cooperation Body" and other international cooperation frameworks will provide China with more effective participation in promoting the "Kyoto Protocol" under the framework of the United Nations. The new integrated coal gasification combined-cycle power plant currently established by Chinese companies in cooperation with Australia is under construction in Australia. It is hoped that this clean and highly efficient coal-fired power plant will be well developed in China through international cooperation.
