I just came across these images captured by Code Photography from a recent fire incident at 7835 Paulina. Joe Metcalf-Reyes did an excellent job documenting the scene. Here’s what I saw:
The first photo shows thick, heavy smoke billowing out of the building. It’s intense, almost overwhelming to look at—like something out of a movie. The second image gives another angle of the smoke, but this time there's more detail in the background, showing firefighters already on the scene.
In the third picture, there’s a firefighter standing amidst the chaos, his gear making him stand out against the backdrop of destruction. He looks exhausted but determined, and it really hits home how much work goes into these situations. The fourth shot captures several firefighters working together at the site. Their teamwork is evident—they’re clearly focused on containing the damage.
The last photo features a firefighter rolling up a hose after the fire has been put out. There’s a sense of relief in the air, even if the area still looks ravaged. It feels like they’ve done their part, though there’s clearly more cleanup ahead.
There were more photos too, but these stood out to me the most. It’s always humbling to see how quickly things can change and how resilient people need to be in moments like these. Code Photography really managed to capture both the devastation and the heroism involved.
