2 dead and 5 injured at haz mat incident near Des Plaines 8-27-15

I was on the scene earlier today, capturing some powerful images that really tell the story of what happened. The first photo shows several fire trucks gathered at the heart of the chaos. You can almost feel the urgency and the teamwork as they work to bring the situation under control. That shot was taken by Tim Olk, who had an incredible eye for detail. The next image is from the decontamination area at the hazardous materials scene. It’s a reminder of the meticulous processes that have to be followed even in high-pressure situations. Again, Tim did a fantastic job capturing this moment with clarity and precision. Then there’s the picture of the hazardous materials crew undergoing decontamination. Their focus and professionalism are evident in every line of their posture. It’s clear they’re fully committed to the task at hand, ensuring both their safety and the safety of others. This photo, too, is credited to Tim Olk. Finally, I wanted to share one more shot from the same hazardous materials scene. In this image, you see the crew again, but this time with a slightly different angle. It highlights not just the physical effort but also the mental resilience required for such demanding work. Once more, Tim’s photography brings these moments to life. These images aren’t just pictures; they’re stories frozen in time. Each one speaks volumes about the dedication and skill of those involved. I’m grateful to have been able to witness and document these critical moments.
