Main Features & Applications

The decanter centrifuge is ideal for solid-phase dewatering, liquid-phase clarification and separation, as well as three-phase (liquid-liquid-solid) separation. It can handle various suspensions with solid particle sizes ranging from 0.005 to 15 mm, a consistency of 1–40%, and temperatures up to 100°C. This equipment is particularly suitable for suspensions with variable consistency and particle size, where filter cloth recovery is challenging. Common applications include the treatment of PVC resins, ammonium sulfite, barium carbonate, strontium sulfate, lithopone, starch, diatomite, plaster, bauxite, soybean and peanut proteins, fruit juices, drinks, vegetable oils, citric acid, blood powder, titanium white powder, kaolin clay, drilling mud, coal washing, waste oil purification, grain stillage waste, municipal sewage, and mineral classification. It is also used for sludge treatment in power plants, printing and dyeing, and paper manufacturing.

The decanter centrifuge consists of a solid drum equipped with a concentric discharge screw. As both rotate at high speed in the same direction, there is a slight rotational speed difference due to the driving system and differential gear. The suspension enters the charging screw through the feed pipe and is accelerated before entering the drum. Under centrifugal force, heavier particles settle on the inner wall of the drum, forming a cake layer that is continuously pushed by the discharge screw towards the smaller end of the drum and expelled. The clarified liquid exits through the vortex finder at the larger end of the drum, achieving solid-liquid separation. This equipment offers continuous feeding, separation, and discharging while running at full speed. It is compact, easy to operate, low noise, has a large capacity, consumes less energy, and is highly automated. It is simple to use, easy to maintain, and widely applicable.
