Main Features & Applications

The decanter centrifuge is ideal for solid-phase dewatering, liquid-phase clarification, and separation of liquid-liquid-solid three-phase suspensions. It works effectively with solid particle sizes ranging from 0.005 to 15mm, consistency between 1% and 40%, and temperatures up to 100°C. It is especially suitable for challenging suspensions where filter cloth recovery is difficult, such as in the processing of PVC resins, ammonium sulfite, barium carbonate, strontium sulfate, lithopone, starch, diatomite, plaster, bauxite, soybean protein, peanut protein, fruit juice, drinks, vegetable oil, citric acid, blood powder, titanium white powder, kaolin clay, drilling mud, washed coal, fine coal, waste oil purification, grain stillage liquid waste, municipal sewage, and mineral classification. It is also widely used in wastewater treatment for power plant sludge, printing and dyeing sludge, paper mill sludge, and more.

 

Schematic Diagram

The solid drum is equipped with a concentric discharge screw that rotates at high speed. The differential speed between the drum and the screw is achieved through the driving system and the differential case. The suspension enters the charging screw through the feed pipe and then moves into the drum after being accelerated. Under centrifugal force, heavy solid particles settle on the inner wall of the drum, forming a cake layer that is continuously pushed by the discharge screw to the small end of the drum and discharged. Meanwhile, the clarified liquid exits the drum through the vortex finder at the large end, achieving solid-liquid separation of the suspension.
