With a global reach spanning over 40 countries and engaging more than 20 million students, F1 in Schools challenges young minds to design a futuristic, scale-model Formula One car. The F1 in Schools program challenges teams of three to six students to create their own Formula One team, designing, building, and racing a 21cm-scale model car made from balsa wood and powered by compressed air. Each team presents their project at regional finals, showcasing their work through both written and verbal presentations. The competition culminates in a high-speed race on a 20-meter track, where cars complete the distance in just over a second.
Winners of the regional events advance to the national championships, with the top teams competing in the F1 in Schools World Finals in Austin, Texas. There, they vie for the prestigious Bernie Ecclestone World Champions trophy and valuable scholarships to City University London.
