In 2007, the "China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Award" passed the project


On November 22nd, the China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Progress Award Fund Committee convened the Fifth Session of the Second Council, and finally reviewed and passed the 2007 "China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Award."

A total of 50 projects were awarded the "China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Progress Award" this year, including one first prize, 13 second prizes, and 36 third prizes; and Zhang Jianwei, deputy director of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, and Tsinghua University's automobile safety and security. Ouyang Minggao, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Energy Conservation, and Guo Maolin, Assistant Director of FAW Group Technology Center Guo Maolin, etc. won the “China Automotive Industry Outstanding Science and Technology Talent Award”; Wang Tao, Project Director of Shenlong Automobile Co., Ltd., and General Manager of R&D Center of Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co., Ltd. Assistants Xing Rufei, deputy chief engineer of FAW Group Technology Center Li Fengjun, and others received the “China Automotive Industry Outstanding Youth Science and Technology Talent Award”.

It is worth mentioning that in all the awards this year, as the first prize project, the development of "Dongfeng 1.5-ton high-mobility off-road vehicle" won unanimous approval by the jury, which is the "China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Progress Award". The first time since the award was established.

Main Properties of PA6 and PA 66

PA6 & PA66 are by far the most used polyamides globally. Both Polyamide 6 (PA6) and Polyamide 66 (PA66) are widely used in many different markets and applications due to their excellent performance/ cost ratios. Their key properties are listed below.

High strength and stiffness at high temperature
Good impact strength, even at low temperature
Very good flow for easy processing
Good abrasion and wear resistance
Excellent fuel and oil resistance
Good fatigue resistance
PA 6 has excellent surface appearance and better processability than PA66 (due to its very low viscosity)
Good electrical insulating properties
High water absorption and water equilibrium content limits the usage
Low dimensional stability
Attacked by strong mineral acids and absorbs polar solvents
Proper drying before processing is needed

Although, they exhibit similar properties, slight differences do remain. PA6 has a slightly lower temperature resistance versus PA66 and is also slightly less expansive.
