Cooper Tire plans to spend US$40 million to set up a global technology center in the United States

In February 2013, Cooper Tire & Rubber announced that it will build a global technology center in Findlay, Ohio.

Cooper Tire said that the new technology center is expected to cost 40 million U.S. dollars in construction costs over the next five years, and will employ 40 engineers, scientists, and researchers in the next three years.

The new test center will become Cooper Tire's global tire technology and innovation center. For this construction project, the Ohio government has approved 2.8 million U.S. dollars in funds for its “Ohio Third Frontline Plan”.

Cooper Tire currently has two regional technology centers in Melksham, UK, and Shanghai, China. The new construction project still needs the approval of the State Control Commission. The final results are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
