Autodesk and Local Motors Collaborate on First Spark 3D Platform Implementation

**Public Company Information:** **NASDAQ:** **ADSK** --- **"The Spark platform is set to revolutionize manufacturing innovation."** SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — Earlier this year, Autodesk introduced Spark, a groundbreaking open platform for 3D printing designed to simplify and enhance the process of printing 3D models. The platform aims to make it easier to control how these models are printed, offering greater reliability and efficiency. Now, Autodesk is partnering with Local Motors, a pioneer in open-source hardware innovation, to leverage the Spark platform as they continue developing the Strati — the world’s first fully 3D-printed car. “Spark has the potential to significantly accelerate manufacturing innovation,” said Alex Fiechter, head of community management at Local Motors. “From capturing our ideas more precisely to guiding Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) and streamlining the creation of machine code, Spark will help us turn digital designs into real production parts much faster than before.” The Strati is currently being developed by the Local Motors team at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), one of the leading centers for additive manufacturing. The vehicle design was selected from a global co-creation community, and as the project moves forward, Local Motors plans to use the Spark platform — marking the first large-scale industrial application of the technology. “Local Motors sees the value of Spark for industrial manufacturing,” said Samir Hanna, vice president and general manager at Autodesk. “This collaboration is a natural step toward pushing the limits of large-format 3D printing and redefining how products are designed and made.” To support the project, ORNL and Cincinnati Incorporated modified a large laser cutter into a massive 3D printer called BAAM (Big Area Additive Manufacturing), similar to a fused deposition modeling (FDM) printer. Spark will streamline the connection between digital car designs and the 3D printer, making visualization and optimization of prints more efficient. According to Local Motors, the Strati simplifies the automotive assembly process by combining community input, advanced tools, and software like Spark. This approach could drastically reduce the number of parts in a vehicle's Bill of Materials (BOM), from over 25,000 to fewer than 50. Plus, the on-demand nature of 3D printing allows manufacturers to tweak or redesign vehicles with minimal cost and time. --- **About Autodesk** Autodesk empowers people to imagine, design, and create a better world. PVC Sheet Films For Packing

PVC sheet is a widely used and popular material. PVC Film can be divided into food grade and industrial grade, and it can be made into transparent, colorful, anti-static, gold-plated, flocking, etc.

For vacuum forming, its main characteristics are high transparency, good surface gloss, less crystal points, small water lines, wide use, strong impact resistance, and easy molding. The finished product meets the US FDA and Japanese PL food hygiene standards. Widely used in the outer packaging of toys, food, electronic products, medicine, electrical appliances, gifts, cosmetics, stationery and other products.
